Congratulations to Mr. Thomas Fung, Chairman of Fairchild Group, for being awarded as one of the recipients of the 2011 Spring Congregation Honorary Degree of the University of British Columbia. Honorary degrees are often conferred on deserving individuals for their unparalleled achievement in community service.  

Thomas Fung’s distinguished contributions to the community have been highly recognized by mainstream media. He was recently listed among the Power 50 by the Vancouver Magazine, and he is the only Chinese-Canadian in B.C. who has received this award in 6 consecutive years. Vancouver Board of Trade had awarded him the highest honour "Spirit of Vancouver Leadership Award" in 2008. Business in Vancouver Magazine and Vancouver Sun also profiled him as one of the “Top 10 Business Person in the Decade” and “Top 100 Most Influential Chinese-Canadians in B.C.”.
