On May 14th, a group of DJs and listeners of Fairchild Radio battled continuous rain and chilly weather and pulled a 60-ton Boeing 757 plane to raise fund for ORBIS. 

The 25-member Fairchild team participated in ORBIS Pull for Sight 2011 and pulled a FedEx cargo plane for 12 feet in merely four seconds, raising $1,250 for ORBIS to eliminate preventable blindness and transform the lives of blind and visually impaired children around the world.

ORBIS Pull for Sight 2011 took place at the FedEx Apron of the Vancouver International Airport and was participated by more than 600 people in 21 teams.  Originated in Toronto, the plane-pulling event was first held in Vancouver last year when Fairchild Radio was the only media participated. This year Fairchild Radio made a commitment early on and quickly recruited over a dozen of listeners who not only donated money, but supported in person to "lend a hand", so to speak.  The oldest member of the Fairchild team was an 86 years old listener who had as much fun pulling the plane as fellow team members a quarter of his age.  

ORBIS will continue the second and third stops of its Pull for Sight 2011 in Toronto and Montreal in August.

五月十四日星期六，天氣寒冷，雨水不斷，加拿大中文電台一班DJ及聽眾無懼風雨，一行25人組成一支愛心拔河隊，合力將一架重逾60噸的波音757飛機以4秒時間拉行12呎，為加拿大奧比斯籌款，善款將為發展中國家的失明兒童提供醫療服務。

加拿大奧比斯自去年開始將多倫多的慈善拉飛機比賽發展至温哥華，今年再接再礪，在温哥華機場的聯邦快遞停機坪舉行第二屆的温哥華「愛心傳動力」拉飛機比賽。加拿大中文電台去年已經組隊參加，今年一開始在電台作出呼籲，25人的名額迅速爆滿，為奧比斯籌得$1,250作經費。

當日參與的電台代表包括盧玉鳯、馬光浩、大C、占士、阮肇勤、Sam、Angel、Janice、Vicky及Jesse等；而參賽的聽眾，最年邁的是一位86歲的老伯伯，但老人家善心精力均不遜年青人，一早就到場等候。比賽前，大會安排健康舞教練帶領大家做熱身操，然後頒發感謝狀，各參賽隊伍再按次序出場，合力拉動一架Fedex運輸機。由於天雨關係，參賽健兒及啦啦隊一直拿著雨傘，到比賽時才冒雨上陣，但仍無損大家為善的熱情。

加拿大奧比斯將在今年八月在多倫多及蒙特利爾進行第二及第三站的「愛心傳動力」慈善拉飛機比賽。
