今屆賽事將產生116面金牌，創歷史新高。

A once-every-four-years sporting spectacle—the 25th Winter Olympic Games—will be held in Italy from February 6 to February 22.

Our sports reporter, Brian Wong, will take you inside the world of the Winter Olympics from February 2 to 6, during the 6:00 p.m. AM1470 News Report.

A total of 116 gold medals will be awarded at this year’s Games, the highest number in Winter Olympic history.

The national team will send 207 athletes to this Winter Olympics, including more than 100 female athletes. This marks the first time in the team’s Winter Olympic history that the number of female athletes exceeds that of male athletes. The team will compete in 14 sports and is expected to win between 25 and 30 medals.

Among them, the men’s ice hockey team—Canada in particular—has been described as a “dream team.”

Team China will field its strongest lineup ever, with 126 athletes. Spotlight athlete Eileen Gu is set to compete in multiple freestyle skiing events as she defends her titles. Hong Kong will also send two short-track speed skaters to the Games.

The Canadian Olympic Committee has announced a strategic investment plan of 500 million dollars aimed at developing more national-team athletes. The plan includes sports scholarships, first-equipment subsidies, and an Olympic ambassadors community outreach program.
