Alex Cuba

Saturday, September 12

1pm, 3pm, 7pm

Agassiz Farm (1632 Agassiz Ave.)

Alex Cuba is a Latin Grammy/Juno winner, singer-songwriter who is not tied to tradition; Alex comes out of the Cuban nueva canciontradition of songwriting – but is known for his vast musical vision. His sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and powerful guitar riffs depart from the conventional stereotype that exemplifies much of the Latin music landscape today. His is music fully rooted in Latin America generally and Cuba specifically, but beautifully bridges cultures and influences in a way that not only entrances audiences but has drawn the attention of other artists and musical collaborators, critics and award-givers.

With the cancellation of the 2020 Harrison Festival, the organizers have decided to drastically reduce their programming and do a series of small intimate concerts. This is the fourth installment of the Still Running Concert Series.

Regarding social distancing, The Harrison Festival website says this:

"All we ask is that you respect the rules we have in place as they are for the protection of everyone including our volunteers, staff, and performers. You will not be permitted to be within two metres of anyone outside of your household (shared address) bubble. You have a choice of 3 sets, a 1:00pm, 3:00pm or 7:00pm start. Both sets will be the same so don’t feel like you’ll be missing out if you don’t see both. We ask you to arrive 10-30 mins before show time, find your predesignated spot, and enjoy the show. Spaces will be reserved on a first come first serve basis and will be spaced out accordingly and specific to your household bubble (shared address). When you buy your tickets, we’ll grab your phone number and we’ll be touch so we can discuss the evening a bit more thoroughly."
