Ganga Giri mixes red natural elements with fat tribal beats and dirty funky bass lines to create a unique tribal-technological deep earth dance experience. Explosive and pulsating, at times ambient and flowing, the music is a pumping percussive multi-layered experience of complex grooves and raw, deep natural sound. A positive celebration.
Descendant of Truganini, from the Palawa people of Tasmania, Ganga has taken dance-floors of the world by storm with his unique Australian sound; modern primitive world music fused with deep earth bass music.
With eleven albums to date, and two decades of touring across Australia, Canada, USA, Europe, New Zealand and into Asia, Ganga has performed everywhere from large outdoor festivs to dance clubs, outdoor arenas, hidden caves and sacred temples.
 
ABOUT THE 25 YEARS OF JUST DANCE

It's time to celebrate the fabulous Just Dance history and community! 

What began as a small gathering arranged by Abheeru for a dozen friends 25 years ago, quickly became an oasis for the 60,000+ dancers who have attended the well over 700 events! Just Dance has also been hub for a great many visionary artists including elite DJs, live musicians and VJs. It is truly a unique Vancouver event and has been favorably compared to a indoor 'Folk Festival' that runs (almost) year round!

Over the years, so many have share their appreciation and even how JD have transformed their lives. Just one example:  "Amazing and eclectic world beat music that keep you dancing and a beautiful community of people who want to JUST DANCE. It is so inspiring to keep up the good vibrations with warm faces and great moves too..."
 
Adding to this, is the celebration of so many artists from around the world who share their incredible talents through World Beat and Global Fusion music that will be featured by our 3 co-residents DJs! 
DJ Handford will first warm up the floor, followed by DJ Abheeru
who will bring the vibe to a frenzy before Ganga Giri and DJ Raghunath Khe will come on boards after the band to extract your every last dance moves! Also part of those 3 DJ sets will be Christain Borrego adding his eclectic live percussions. Laura Ahava Bloomberg will open the evening with some sacred flute playing and then be our MC. All this music be accompanied by digital visualizations crafted live by our fabulous resident VJ Kashub.
