Fairchild Radio President Honored with Queen’s Jubilee Medal

 

George Lee, President of Fairchild Radio Group, is honored to be a recipient of the “Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal” for his dedicated service to the local community and to Canada.  For the award ceremony that took place in Vancouver on January 6, 2013, Honorable Senator Yohan Martin flew in from Ottawa to present the Medal on behalf of the Governor General of Canada.

 

An immigrant from Taiwan, George Lee was voted one of the Top Ten DJs in his native land before moving to Vancouver in 1995.  Since then, he has continued his broadcasting career at Fairchild Radio Vancouver but gradually shifted his focus to management.  He was promoted to the positon of President of Fairchild Radio Group nationwide in 2009 and is now in charge of a total of 5 radio stations in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.  The radio group’s latest achievement, developing a Chinese app for smart phone users, has been well received by Chinese Canadians across Canada.

 

The Medal was created to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty's ascension to the throne.
