Edgar Muenala

Edgar Muenala was born and raised in Ecuador. He began his music career at age fifteen studying clasical guitar. This was the foudation of what became years of musical training. Edgar also plays, mandolin, violin, charango and a wide variety of pan flute instruments. In 1987 Edgar released his first debut CD entitled Music of Ecuador; a compilation of Ecuadorian rhythms. Since 1988 he toured Western Europe, Asia and America. Providing performances for workshops, universities, schools, festivals, private and many popular TV shows.

Edgar was inspired by both his Native music and Asian culture which lead him to create his own style later on. The style can be defined by its characteristic mix of culturally diverse rhythms and use of electronic and digital effects in contemporary World Music.

¡§What I really love about playing panflute is being able to reach into someone¡¦s soul and touch their life in a special way. It¡¦s as if I am having a very personal and intimate conversation with each of my listeners." -- Edgar --
